Our Inspiration
Chocosina was inspired by Sidney Lauren Lavoie – a beautiful, vibrant, smart and determined 11 year-old girl.
Plagued by a life threatening liver disorder, Sidney was faced with the most important decision of her young life ... whether to live with treatments and a controlled diet for a while longer or risk it all for some normality by a liver transplant.
After much reflexion, Sidney finally decided a transplant was worth every risk. When asked why, she replied: "Dad, I can't live without chocolate! I won't be happy without sweets!"
Feeling scared, she went into the operating room. After eight long hours, the surgeon came out, looking exhausted, announced Sidney was one of the bravest little girls he's ever met.
On April 14th, 2012 - Sidney survived her transplant.
